Loves!

Sunday 30 September 2012
Happy Birthday aly! You get three balls of Ella Rae Mega! And a pair of 10mm circular needles! And some chocolate...

Oh, and my new shawl The Lonely Tree Shawl is #1 on hot right now, and has been for the whole day.
I woke up with it #1 and I'm going to bed with it being #1. Also, over 1100 people have downloaded it today! Wowza! Thanks to everyone for their support! It's been a lovely day :)

New Pattern: The Lonely Tree Shawl

Saturday 29 September 2012

I did the yarn harvest 2012!

Monday 24 September 2012
I took photos inconsistently throughout the day, but me and Aliza went crawling for Yarn Harvest 2012!

We drove around to Black Sheep Yarns, 88 Stitches, Knit and Stitch shoppe, Baaad Anna's, Gina Brown's yarn & Urban yarns

Some of Aliza's bounty from Black Sheep Yarns!

This is what the day looked like mostly.

But then Ikea breakfast/lunch happened. Aliza modelling some mediocre Ikea chocolate!

The Knit & Stitch shoppe had this amazing wall of yarn! And hanging-up baby which piqued my interest!

Our final shop was Gina Brown's yarn, which had A WALL OF MALABRIGO

Look at this amazing wall! SO PRETTY!

So overall the day was pretty great!

I got some photos taken of me.

Some things I did today

Tuesday 11 September 2012
Today I took photos of my knitted things at the store!

This shawl has gotten a lot of attention - I haven't published it yet!

Baaad Anna's sitting area

Carla is pretty!

I'm going to be knitting another one of the leaf shawls out of this lovely new yarn we got at the shop. Loden!

Caitlin got eaten by a hammock. She published some new patterns recently. Go check them out!

Also, I am cute! Dear boys that I like: like me back!

It's finished and blocking!

Sunday 9 September 2012
Dear internet,

What do you think?

Would you knit it?

I think it's very pretty.

Lots of love,

~ Softsweater

More plotting and some test-knitting!

Thursday 6 September 2012

This is about twice or three times as big now... nearing completion. Will be a new pattern. It seems like everyone and their dog has designed a shawl with some sort of repeating leaves, but I'm just learning how to write lace with charts so I decided to start small! I defaulted to using one of my favourite yarns Baby Alpaca Sport by Diamond Luxury. I bought three skeins... let's see how many I use!

This is my old pattern All About Love, knit out of Diamond Luxury's Lima yarn. So lovely and squishy and beautifully coloured! I thought I was going to need three balls but only ended up using 2! So I returned the third ball and bought the yarn I mentioned above for the repeating leaves shawl :)
